2027 F-250 · F-350 · F-450 · Huntley, IL
The 2027 Ford Super Duty. The three big numbers belong to three different trucks.
Ford advertises 40,000 lbs of towing, 7,900 lbs of payload and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. Its own disclaimers say the first is an F-450, the second is a gas F-350, and the third is a diesel. No truck does all three. Start from the number you actually need and the truck picks itself.
- 40,000 lbs
- Max gooseneck tow, F-450 XL 4×2 dually
- 7,900 lbs
- Max payload, F-350 XL dually on gas
- $45,975
- F-250 XL, before destination
From $45,975 (F-250 XL) · Ford’s MSRPs, read Sept. 7, 2026 · destination charge not published
Starting MSRPs are Ford’s own published prices for the 2027 Super Duty, read from ford.com in a rendered browser on Sept. 7, 2026. Ford publishes no destination and delivery charge on the Super Duty model page, so none is quoted here; ask us for the figure on a specific truck. Prices exclude taxes, title, license and the dealer documentary fee. Towing, payload and output figures are Ford’s, with the configuration each one requires named beside it.
Every maximum on the banner is a different truck
These are Ford’s figures, quoted with the configuration Ford’s own footnotes attach to them. Read them together and the shopping problem changes shape.
- 40,000Pounds of gooseneck towing, at the very top
- 7,900Pounds of payload, at the very top
- 1,200Pound-feet of torque, High-Output diesel
| Ford’s figure | The truck it requires | Engine | Also required |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40,000 lb gooseneck towing | F-450 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually | 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel | F-450 High-Capacity Gooseneck Tow Package |
| 22,500 lb conventional towing | F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually | 7.3L gas V8 | Properly equipped |
| 7,900 lb payload | F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually | 7.3L gas V8 | Heavy Payload Package |
| 6,935 lb payload | F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually | 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel | Properly equipped |
| 1,200 lb-ft of torque | Any truck that can take the engine | 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel | Properly equipped |
The gas truck carries more than the diesel
Ford’s own disclaimers put maximum payload at 7,900 lbs with the 7.3L gas V8 and 6,935 lbs with the High-Output diesel – on the same F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually. That is 965 lbs of difference, and it goes the way people do not expect. A diesel V8 and its emissions hardware weigh a lot, and payload is whatever the axles have left after the truck weighs itself.
Every maximum is an XL Regular Cab 4×2
Not one of Ford’s headline figures comes from a crew-cab four-wheel-drive truck, which is what most retail buyers order. Add a crew cab, add 4×4, add the leather, and you have added several hundred pounds of curb weight before you have loaded anything. The numbers on the window sticker of the truck in front of you are the ones that count.
Towing and payload are not the same problem
A gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer puts a fifth to a quarter of its weight straight down onto the bed, so the 40,000-lb tow rating and the payload rating are spending from the same account. If you are pulling something heavy on a gooseneck, payload is usually what runs out first, not tow rating – which is exactly why the biggest number lives on a dually.
Ford’s wording, from the 2027 Super Duty page: max gooseneck tow rating of 40,000 lbs. available on F-450 XL Regular Cab 4×2 DRW with available 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel B20 engine, when properly equipped, requires F-450 High-Capacity Gooseneck Tow Package; max payload of 6,935 lbs. available on F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 DRW with the same engine; max available payload capacity of 7,900 lbs requires the F-350 XL Regular Cab DRW 4×2 with the 7.3L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 Gas engine and Heavy Payload Package; max available towing capacity of 22,500 lbs requires the F-350 XL Regular Cab DRW 4×2 with the 7.3L gas engine. Max towing and payload vary with cargo, configuration, accessories and passengers. See the label on the doorjamb for the carrying capacity of a specific vehicle.
What the whole 2027 range costs
Ford’s published starting MSRPs for all fifteen Super Duty pickups, read from ford.com on Sept. 7, 2026. Two patterns fall straight out of the table, and both are worth knowing before you walk the lot.
| Trim | F-250 | F-350 | F-450 |
|---|---|---|---|
| XL | $45,975 | $47,280 | $63,840 |
| XLT | $49,275 | $50,580 | $67,770 |
| Lariat | $62,975 | $64,280 | $81,005 |
| King Ranch | $78,575 | $79,880 | $96,390 |
| Platinum | $79,465 | $80,770 | $97,835 |
F-350 costs exactly $1,305 more than F-250. Every trim.
$47,280 against $45,975. $50,580 against $49,275. $64,280 against $62,975. $79,880 against $78,575. $80,770 against $79,465. Five trims, one number, no exceptions. For $1,305 the F-350 brings heavier springs and a higher gross weight rating, and it is the chassis behind Ford’s own payload record. If you are anywhere near the top of an F-250’s capacity, that is one of the cheapest upgrades on the sheet.
The F-450 premium is mostly an engine
An F-450 costs between $16,510 and $17,190 more than the same trim of F-350. It is not a plusher truck – it is that the 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel is standard equipment on every F-450, where every F-250 and F-350 card lists the 7.3L gas V8. Order the diesel on an F-350 and the gap narrows a great deal. Ask us what the diesel actually costs as an option before you assume the F-450 is out of reach.

One chassis, one job, and it is not a nicer F-350
The F-450 is dually-only, it comes with the High-Output diesel whether you wanted it or not, and it is the only Super Duty pickup that reaches Ford’s 40,000-lb gooseneck rating. Everything about it is aimed at one thing: pulling something very heavy on a gooseneck or fifth wheel, repeatedly. What it is not is a status trim. An F-450 XL is a plain work truck with black bumpers and steel wheels, and it costs $63,840 – more than an F-250 Lariat. If the weight you pull does not need it, an F-350 with the same engine will do the job for less, and it will be an easier truck to live with the rest of the week. The fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitch prep package is standard equipment on the F-450 and optional on everything else, which tells you what Ford expects it to be doing.
What you actually get as you move up
Prices shown are the F-250; add $1,305 for the same trim on an F-350. Ford’s own renders are used here, and they are not one configuration – XL and XLT are photographed as regular cabs with the 8-ft box, the top three as crew cabs with the 6.75-ft box.

Ford’s studio renders are used as published, cropped and scaled only. They are not photographed in one configuration: the XL and XLT renders are regular cabs with the 8-ft box, and the Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum renders are crew cabs with the 6.75-ft box, so the pictures compare body styles as well as trims. Colors shown are the ones Ford chose for each render and are not the only ones offered. Equipment listed comes from ford.com’s 2027 trim cards and Ford’s 2026 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide; where a package or feature is 2026 evidence, this page says so.
Two published outputs, and two Ford has not published
This is the honest state of the Super Duty spec sheet in September 2026. Ford has released no 2027 order guide, and the 2026 order guide prints TBD in every horsepower and torque cell it has.
| Engine | Horsepower | Torque | Transmission |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7.3L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 gas | 420 hp at 5,350 rpm | 445 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm | TorqShift 10-speed automatic |
| 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel B20 | 500 hp at 2,600 rpm | 1,200 lb-ft at 1,600 rpm | TorqShift 10-speed automatic |
| 6.8L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 gas | Not published for 2027 | Not published for 2027 | TorqShift-G 10-speed automatic |
| 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel B20 | Not published for 2027 | Not published for 2027 | TorqShift 10-speed automatic |
Why two rows say nothing
The 6.8L gas V8 and the standard 6.7L Power Stroke are both in Ford’s engine list, but the 2026 order guide’s Engine Horsepower and Torque Ratings table prints TBD against all five engines, and ford.com’s 2027 page publishes figures for only two of them. Rather than take a number from a comparison site, this page leaves the cells empty and says why. We can pull the ratings for a specific truck off its window sticker in a couple of minutes.
There are two different 7.3L numbers on Ford’s own page
The 2027 disclaimers and the rendered spec block both say 420 hp and 445 lb-ft. An older disclaimer still on the same page says 430 hp and 485 lb-ft. Ford’s order guide rates these engines in two brackets – at or under 10,000 lbs gross weight, and over 10,001 lbs – which is the likely shape of the difference, but with the table printed TBD there is no published mapping. Ask which rating applies to the build you are considering.
The 6.8L may already be gone from F-250 and F-350
Ford’s 2026 order guide says the 6.8L gas is standard on XL, XLT and Lariat, with the 7.3L standard from King Ranch up. On ford.com’s 2027 model cards, all ten F-250 and F-350 trims – XL included – list the 7.3L. That looks like a real change for 2027, but Ford has published nothing to confirm it, so treat it as a question for the salesperson rather than a fact.
Horsepower and torque figures are Ford’s, determined under SAE J1349, read from ford.com on Sept. 7, 2026. Ford’s own note applies: horsepower and torque are independent attributes and may not be achieved simultaneously. Engine availability by trim comes from Ford’s 2026 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide and ford.com’s 2027 trim cards; no 2027 order guide has been published.
Three agencies, and what each one actually has
People assume every new truck arrives with an mpg figure and a star rating. On a three-quarter-ton and up, most of that simply does not exist, and it is better to know that before you go looking for it.
EPA: no mpg rating exists
Ford’s own order guide states it in capitals: trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings over 8,500 pounds are not included in the EPA fuel economy rating system, because loading and use vary so widely. Every Super Duty is above that line. There is no window-sticker mpg, no combined figure and no annual fuel cost estimate. Anyone quoting you one for a Super Duty made it up or borrowed it from a half-ton.
NHTSA: Not Rated, on everything
NHTSA’s Safety Ratings database holds six 2026 F-250 records – regular cab, SuperCab and crew cab, each in rear- and four-wheel drive – and every one returns Not Rated for the overall score, the frontal crash test, the side crash test and rollover alike. There are no 2027 records at all. This is not a poor score; it is the absence of a test.
IIHS: no crash tests, but one new result
The IIHS has never crash-tested a Super Duty. On June 9, 2026 it published its first evaluations of commercial vehicles, scoring five driver-protection features rather than crashworthiness. The 2025 Ford F-350 SuperCrew Cab 4WD met all five: an effective belt reminder, pre-tensioners, force limiters, a front airbag and a side airbag. For contrast, in the same table the Ford Transit T250 failed the belt-reminder criterion.
EPA scope is quoted from Ford’s 2026 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide, page 34. NHTSA figures come from the agency’s Safety Ratings API, read Sept. 7, 2026. The IIHS result is from the institute’s own article, published June 9, 2026, and covers driver-protection equipment only – it is not a crashworthiness rating and should not be read as one.
The boxes that change what the truck can do
Package content and codes below come from Ford’s 2026 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide, the most recent one published. Ask us to confirm any of it against a 2027 build sheet.
Tremor Off-Road Package (17Y) – a package, not a trim
Optional on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. It brings 35-inch off-road tires on 18-inch wheels, a rear electronic-locking differential and a front limited-slip differential, a taller front ride height, performance shocks, transfer-case and fuel-tank skid plates, water-fording vent tubes, Rock Crawl and Trail Control modes and Trail Turn Assist. It requires 4×4 and a crew cab, and it cannot be ordered with the 8-ft box, with dual rear wheels, or with the 6.8L gas engine. Note also that Ford deleted Lane Departure Warning from this package for 2026.
Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package (53W)
Standard on the F-450, optional on everything else – and the ordering trap most worth knowing: it cannot be combined with the drop-in bedliner, the bed mat or the pickup box delete. If you are planning to pull a fifth-wheel or gooseneck, this is the box to get right at order time, because retrofitting the in-bed hardware afterwards costs a great deal more than checking it now.
Platinum Plus Package (17W) – diesel only
Platinum only, and it requires the 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke. It adds Pro Power Onboard at 2 kW, a twin-panel power moonroof, six upfitter switches, 20-inch wheels, Smoked Truffle premium leather and a satin-finish grille. It is the only route to Pro Power Onboard on the trim walk, and it is why a loaded Super Duty is always a diesel.
Weight-rating packages you may need and not know about
The F-250 Greater than 10K GVWR Package (68U) is optional on XL and XLT and standard on Lariat and above – which means the cheapest trims can be built either side of the 10,000-lb line that matters for registration and for some tolling and licensing. The F-250 High Capacity Axle Upgrade (535) requires a diesel and takes gross weight up to 11,400 lbs. Both are worth asking about before you compare two XLs on price.
The cheap appearance and capability boxes on XL
STX Appearance (17S) on a 4×4 XL brings body-color bumpers, 18-inch black wheels, LED fog lamps and carpet – it is the one that makes a work truck look like a truck you would drive on Saturday. XL Off-Road (17Z) adds 33-inch all-terrain tires, a rear locker, skid plates and water-fording vents. FX4 Off-Road (17X) is available on any 4×4 and brings Hill Descent Control, off-road shocks and skid plates.
Snow Plow Prep Package (473)
A real consideration in McHenry and Kane County. It is 4×4 only, brings computer-selected springs for plow duty and a bigger alternator, and it cannot be combined with the Tremor package or the heavy-service front suspension. If the truck is going to carry a plow, this needs to be decided at order time rather than argued about at the upfitter.

It is the off-road box, and it costs you the box
The Tremor Off-Road Package turns a Super Duty into a genuinely capable off-road truck: 35-inch tires, lockers at both ends, a lifted front end, fording vents and the crawl modes. It also fixes the shape of your truck. Tremor requires a crew cab and 4×4, and it is not available with the 8-ft bed or with dual rear wheels. So the decision is not really about the package. It is about whether the truck’s job is the trail or the trailer. If you need the long bed for a gooseneck, or duals for the weight, Tremor is off the table before you have looked at the price. If the truck spends its weekends on two-track and its weekdays on a bumper-pull, it is one of the better packages Ford sells. One detail worth carrying into the conversation: for 2026 Ford deleted Lane Departure Warning from the Tremor package.
What is new, and what quietly changed
The 2027 items come from ford.com. The 2026 items come from the Major Product Changes page of Ford’s 2026 order guide, and are included because they are the most recent documented changes to this truck.
-
New for 2027
Carhartt Package
Ford calls it the all-new Super Duty Carhartt Package and offers it from XLT. It is the first new appearance package on this truck in some time, and the only 2027-specific addition Ford has announced on the model page.
-
Watch
The base engine on XL and XLT
Ford’s 2026 guide makes the 6.8L gas standard on XL, XLT and Lariat. Every 2027 F-250 and F-350 card on ford.com lists the 7.3L instead. If that holds, the cheapest Super Duty gained a bigger standard engine – but Ford has published no 2027 order guide, so ask before you count on it.
-
New for 2026
Configurations and equipment
The SuperCab on the 148-inch wheelbase became available on XL, rear-wheel drive became the standard driveline on XLT and Lariat, and a tire pressure monitoring system became standard across the range. A new Lariat Premium Package (96W) also appeared.

Colors
Three in, two out, one more for 2027
For 2026 Ford added Argon Blue Metallic, Marsh Gray and Iconic Silver Metallic on fleet orders, and deleted Antimatter Blue Metallic and Darkened Bronze Metallic. Ford’s 2027 gallery shows at least one color beyond that list, Neptune Blue, which appears on the Lariat and Platinum renders.
Five open campaigns on the 2026, and none yet on the 2027
Straight from NHTSA’s database, read Sept. 7, 2026. Every remedy is free of charge, and three of the five are software. We would rather you read this here than find it later.
| Campaign | Filed | The defect | The remedy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 26V489000 | Jul 28, 2026 | Rearview camera image can be blocked by the infotainment home screen when reversing, on trucks with the 8-inch SYNC screen | Free software update, dealer or over the air |
| 26V119000 | Mar 3, 2026 | Driveshaft friction weld may fail, separating the rear driveshaft and causing sudden loss of drive power | Dealer inspects the serial number and replaces the driveshaft if affected, free |
| 26V104000 | Feb 20, 2026 | Integrated trailer module can lose trailer lighting and braking while towing | Free software update, dealer or over the air |
| 25V866000 | Dec 12, 2025 | Right rear axle shaft may have been improperly heat-treated and may break, risking loss of drive power or rollaway in park | Dealer inspects the axle date code and replaces the shaft if affected, free |
| 25V540000 | Aug 22, 2025 | Instrument panel cluster may fail at startup, leaving warning lights and road speed unreadable | Free software update, dealer or over the air |
Two of the five are driveline breakage
The axle shaft campaign and the driveshaft campaign are both inspect-and-replace-if-affected, not blanket replacements, so whether a particular truck needs anything comes down to a date code or a serial number. That is a VIN lookup, it takes minutes, and it is worth doing on any 2025 or 2026 Super Duty before you buy it – ours or anybody else’s.
Give us a VIN and we will check it
Ford’s customer service line for all five campaigns is 1-866-436-7332, and you can check any VIN yourself at nhtsa.gov. Or call us at (847) 669-6060 and we will run it for you, on a truck you are looking at here or somewhere else. The 2027 has no campaigns filed against it yet, which is normal for a model year this new rather than evidence of anything.
The documented palette, with a caveat
Ford has published no 2027 order guide, so the color list below is from the 2026 guide and the 2027 palette may differ – the 2027 renders already show a navy, Neptune Blue, that the 2026 list does not contain.
| Color | Availability |
|---|---|
| Agate Black Metallic | XL and up, no cost |
| Oxford White | XL and up, no cost |
| Carbonized Gray Metallic | XL and up |
| Argon Blue Metallic | XL and up, extra cost, added for 2026 |
| Avalanche | XL and up, extra cost |
| Race Red | XL and up, extra cost |
| Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat | XLT and up, extra cost |
| Marsh Gray | XLT and up, extra cost, added for 2026 |
| Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat | Lariat and up, extra cost |
| Star White Metallic Tri-Coat | Lariat and up, extra cost |
| Two-tone with Marsh Gray lower body | King Ranch and Platinum |
| Iconic Silver Metallic | Fleet orders only, added for 2026 |
Color availability is from Ford’s 2026 Super Duty Pickup Order Guide and applies to the 2026 model year. Marsh Gray is not available with the Black Appearance Package. Fleet-only colors require a valid fleet identification number and are not offered with dual rear wheels or with the Tremor, STX, FX4, XLT Premium or Black Appearance packages. Ford publishes no surcharge amounts for extra-cost paint, so ask us to price the specific truck.
What Ford is entitled to say
Two claims, both with their own footnotes, both worth reading with the footnote attached.
J.D. Power initial quality, two years running
Ford’s award block reads: number one for new-vehicle quality, two years in a row – the 2026 Super Duty named best-in-class initial quality among large heavy-duty trucks. Initial quality measures problems reported in the first ninety days of ownership, so it is a build-quality signal rather than a durability one. It is still the metric a fleet buyer looks at first.
Best-selling truck for 49 years
The F-Series claim covers the whole line, not the Super Duty on its own, and Ford’s footnote defines it precisely: based on 1977 to 2024 calendar-year industry-reported total sales. It says nothing about whether this truck suits your work, but it does mean parts, service knowledge and resale are about as well supported as they get.
What buying here is like

The rest of the Ford truck range
Three-quarter-ton and up is a lot of truck to own for a job a half-ton would do. These are the honest alternatives, each written up the same way.
- 2026 Ford F-150The half-ton, and the right truck for most people who think they need a Super Duty
- 2026 Ford RangerMid-size, 7,500 lb tow rating, and it fits in a normal garage
- 2026 Ford F-150 RaptorIf the off-road half of the Tremor argument is the half you care about
- 2027 Ford TransitWhen the load needs to be inside and dry rather than on a trailer
2027 Ford Super Duty questions
Answered from Ford’s own documents, NHTSA and the IIHS, with the source named each time.
How much can a 2027 Ford Super Duty tow?
Up to 40,000 lbs, but only in one configuration. Ford’s own disclaimer says the 40,000-lb gooseneck rating requires an F-450 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually with the 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel and the F-450 High-Capacity Gooseneck Tow Package. On gas, the maximum conventional tow rating is 22,500 lbs, on an F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually with the 7.3L. A crew-cab 4×4 Lariat will pull a good deal less than either. The number that matters is on the doorjamb of the specific truck, and we will read it with you.
How much can a Super Duty carry in the bed?
Ford publishes 7,900 lbs as the maximum payload, and it requires an F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 dually with the 7.3L gas V8 and the Heavy Payload Package. The same truck with the High-Output diesel is rated at 6,935 lbs – 965 lbs less, because the diesel engine and its hardware weigh more and payload is what the axles have left over. If payload is your priority, gas is worth a serious look.
What is the difference between an F-250, an F-350 and an F-450?
Weight rating, mostly. On 2027 pricing the F-350 costs exactly $1,305 more than the F-250 on every single trim, and brings heavier springs and a higher gross weight rating – it is the chassis behind Ford’s payload record. The F-450 costs $16,510 to $17,190 more than the same F-350 trim, largely because the High-Output diesel is standard on every F-450 where the F-250 and F-350 list the 7.3L gas. The F-450 is also dually-only and is the only one that reaches 40,000 lbs.
What engines does the 2027 Super Duty have?
Ford publishes two sets of figures: the 7.3L gas V8 at 420 hp and 445 lb-ft, and the 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel at 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft, both through a TorqShift 10-speed automatic. A 6.8L gas V8 and a standard-output 6.7L Power Stroke are also in the range, but Ford publishes no 2027 ratings for either – its own 2026 order guide prints TBD against every horsepower and torque cell. We are not going to fill that in from a comparison site.
What is the gas mileage of a Ford Super Duty?
There is no official figure, and this surprises people. Ford’s order guide states it plainly: trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings over 8,500 pounds are not included in the EPA fuel economy rating system, because loading and use vary too much between customers. Every Super Duty is over that line, so there is no window-sticker mpg and no EPA annual fuel cost. Any mpg number you see quoted for a Super Duty is somebody’s estimate, not a rating.
Is the Ford Super Duty safe? What are its crash ratings?
There are no crash ratings, from either agency. NHTSA lists six 2026 F-250 records – three cab styles in two drivelines – and returns Not Rated for the overall score, the frontal test, the side test and rollover alike. The IIHS has never crash-tested a Super Duty. What does exist is new: on June 9, 2026 the IIHS began evaluating commercial vehicles on driver-protection equipment, and the 2025 F-350 SuperCrew Cab 4WD met all five criteria – effective belt reminder, pre-tensioners, force limiters, front airbag and side airbag.
What recalls are open on the Ford Super Duty?
Five campaigns on the 2026, none yet on the 2027. Three are software, fixed at a dealer or over the air: the instrument cluster (25V540000), the integrated trailer module that can drop trailer lights and brakes while towing (26V104000), and a rearview camera image blocked by the SYNC home screen when reversing (26V489000). The two that matter most are mechanical: 25V866000, a right rear axle shaft that may have been improperly heat-treated and may break, and 26V119000, a driveshaft friction weld that may fail. Both are inspect-and-replace-if-affected, both free. Give us a VIN and we will check it.
Is Tremor a trim level?
No. Tremor is an off-road package, code 17Y, ordered on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch or Platinum. It brings 35-inch tires, lockers front and rear, a raised front ride height, skid plates, fording vents and the crawl modes. The constraints matter more than the content: it requires 4×4 and a crew cab, and it is not available with the 8-ft box, with dual rear wheels or with the 6.8L gas engine. If you need the long bed or duals, Tremor is not an option regardless of budget.
What is the 2027 Ford Super Duty price?
The F-250 range runs from $45,975 for the XL to $79,465 for the Platinum. F-350 is $1,305 more at every trim, $47,280 to $80,770. F-450 runs $63,840 to $97,835 with the High-Output diesel standard. Those are Ford’s published starting MSRPs, read from ford.com on Sept. 7, 2026. Ford publishes no destination and delivery charge on the Super Duty page, so we have not quoted one – ask and we will give you the figure on a specific truck along with taxes, title, license and the documentary fee.
Should I buy the gas or the diesel?
Work it out from what the truck does, not from the horsepower. The High-Output diesel gives you 500 hp, 1,200 lb-ft and the only route to 40,000 lbs, and it is standard on the F-450 and required for the Platinum Plus package. The 7.3L gas gives you more payload on the same chassis, a much lower purchase price and simpler maintenance. If you tow heavy and often, particularly on a gooseneck, the diesel earns its money. If you carry weight rather than pull it, or tow a few times a year, the gas truck is usually the better buy.
Can I get a Super Duty set up for a snowplow?
Yes. The Snow Plow Prep Package, code 473, is 4×4 only and brings computer-selected front springs for plow duty and a larger alternator. It cannot be combined with the Tremor package or the heavy-service front suspension package. If the truck is going to carry a plow, decide this at order time – it is far easier than sorting it out afterwards, and it is a common enough request around Huntley that we can talk it through properly.
What colors does the 2027 Super Duty come in?
Ford has not published a 2027 order guide, so the documented list is the 2026 one: Agate Black Metallic, Oxford White, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Argon Blue Metallic, Avalanche and Race Red from XL up; Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Marsh Gray from XLT; Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat and Star White Metallic Tri-Coat from Lariat; Iconic Silver Metallic on fleet orders. King Ranch and Platinum are offered two-tone over a Marsh Gray lower body. Ford’s 2027 gallery also shows a navy called Neptune Blue that is not on the 2026 list, so the palette has moved.
Start with the heaviest thing you tow
Call (847) 669-6060 and tell us the trailer, not the trim. Its loaded weight and whether it is a bumper-pull, a fifth-wheel or a gooseneck settles chassis, engine, cab and box in about five minutes – and it is the only order that works.
Bring the trailer
Nothing on this page settles a Super Duty the way hitching your own trailer to one does. We are on Automall Drive, just off Route 47 at I-90 – an easy run from Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Woodstock and Marengo, and there is room to turn a gooseneck around.
