Ford Pickup and Delivery in Huntley, IL
Tell us when and where, and we collect the vehicle, service it here, and bring it back. The collection and the return are complimentary. The work is not — and that is the whole of the catch.
What is Ford Pickup and Delivery?
Ford’s own description, from the program page this dealership publishes: “tell your dealer when and where you’d like to have your Ford vehicle picked up — home or work — and we’ll come get it, service it at the dealership, and return it to you.”
In short
Somebody from Huntley Ford drives to you, takes the vehicle, and brings it back when the work is done. It is a way of getting the car to the shop, not a different kind of shop — the service happens here, on the same ramp, by the same technicians, with the same parts. What changes is that you do not spend a morning in a waiting room.
We collect it
From home or from work, at a time you pick. You hand over the key; the vehicle leaves on our plates and our insurance.
We service it here
In the Huntley Ford service department, by Ford-trained technicians, with Ford and Motorcraft parts — identical to driving it in yourself.
We return it
To the same place, or a different one if your day has moved. Updates by phone, text or email — whichever you asked for when you booked.
Is Ford Pickup and Delivery free?
It is the first thing Google suggests when you search the program, and the answer has two halves that are easy to run together.
- The journey is complimentary. Ford’s word, not ours. Collecting the vehicle and returning it costs you nothing, and there is no mileage charge inside the area the store covers.
- The work is charged as normal. Ford’s terms put it in one line — “does not include parts or repair charges.” An oil change costs what an oil change costs; a set of brakes costs what a set of brakes costs. The saving is your morning, not the invoice.
- Warranty work is still warranty work. If the job is covered, it is covered whether you drove in or we came out. Collection does not change who pays for the repair.
- Nothing is added for the convenience. There is no concierge fee, no surcharge and no minimum spend attached to the pickup itself.
Ford’s terms, as this dealership publishes them: “Ford Pickup & Delivery is offered by Huntley Ford and may be limited based on availability, distance, or other dealer-specified criteria. Does not include parts or repair charges. A nonoperational vehicle is not eligible and will require a Roadside event.” Reproduced word for word — three conditions, and each one is worth reading before you book.
What Pickup and Delivery covers, and what it does not
Ford’s answer on the dealership’s own page is broader than people expect on one side and firmer than they expect on the other.
- Covered: all warranty and customer-pay repairs. Ford’s wording. That is not a maintenance-only program — a diagnosis, a repair and a recall are all eligible.
- Covered: the routine work. An oil change, a rotation, brakes, a battery, tires, the scheduled service — anything on the shop’s list.
- Covered: a recall. Recalls are repaired free of charge by any franchised Ford dealer, and having the vehicle collected does not change that. Check your VIN first so it goes on the same visit.
- Not covered: a vehicle that will not drive. Ford’s terms exclude a nonoperational vehicle, which then needs a roadside event rather than a pickup. Ford’s FAQ adds the other half: a vehicle involved in a roadside collision is not eligible either.
- Not covered: parts and repair charges. Said twice by Ford, so it is said twice here.
- Possibly limited by where you are. Ford’s terms allow the store to set a distance. What Huntley Ford’s is, is worth one phone call — see the questions below.
Ford’s own FAQ answers this in a single word — yes. The vehicle is serviced at Huntley Ford, not routed to whichever store has capacity. If you have a history with an advisor here, that is who writes it up.
Pickup and Delivery or Mobile Service?
Huntley Ford runs both, they sound alike, and they are opposites. One moves the vehicle to the technician; the other moves the technician to the vehicle.
Pickup and Delivery — the car travels
Choose it when the job needs a ramp, a lift, an alignment rack or a diagnostic bay: brakes, tires, suspension, anything that has to come apart. Also the right choice when you simply do not want to be involved — you are not required to be at home while it happens.
Mobile Service — the technician travels
Choose Mobile Service for the light routine work a van can carry: oil and filter, a rotation, wipers, air and cabin filters, a battery test. It is quicker for those, and the vehicle never leaves your driveway.
The advisor moves it. A mobile visit that turns out to need the shop becomes a pickup; a pickup for something a van could have done on the drive is not a problem, just a longer route. Describing the symptom on (847) 669-6060 settles it in a minute.
Can I use a service coupon with Pickup and Delivery?
Ford’s own FAQ answers it with an exclamation mark: “Yes! All rebates and special offers apply.”
ComplimentaryPickup and Delivery is itself one of the standing offers on the coupons page, alongside the priced ones it can be combined with — the $69.95 oil and filter change, $45 off brake service per axle, and the rest. Read the terms before you book, because the dealership’s own coupons say one per customer.See Service Coupons
How to arrange Pickup and Delivery in Huntley
There is no separate form. It is a note on an ordinary service booking, and the sooner it is on the booking the easier it is to fit.
- Book the service first. Use Ford’s scheduler exactly as you would for a visit you drove to, and pick the work you need.
- Ask for pickup when you book. Say where the vehicle will be — home or work — and when. Ford’s terms make availability a real constraint, so the request goes in with the appointment rather than the morning of.
- Or call (847) 669-6060 and arrange the whole thing at once. Quicker if the job needs describing, and it is also how you find out whether your address is inside the area the store covers.
- Say how you want to be told. Ford’s FAQ: phone, text or email, however you like. Pick one when you book and the updates come that way.
- Mention the coupon then too. An offer goes on the repair order when the advisor writes it up, not after the job is invoiced.
Pickup and Delivery questions we are asked
Is Ford Pickup and Delivery really free?
The collection and the return are, and Ford’s word for it is complimentary. The service itself is charged at the normal price — Ford’s terms say the program “does not include parts or repair charges.” There is no fee for the journey and no surcharge on the work.
Do I have to be there when you collect it?
No. You need to have arranged the handover of a key, but you do not have to be standing in the driveway. Tell the advisor where the vehicle will be and how to reach you.
How far will you come?
Ford’s terms let each dealership set its own limit based on availability and distance, and Huntley Ford has not published a figure. Call (847) 669-6060 with your address and they will tell you straight away.
Will I get a loaner while you have the car?
Ford’s answer on this dealership’s own page is that a loaner may or may not be available and other options may be offered, so it is worth asking when you book rather than assuming.
How long will the vehicle be gone?
As long as the work takes, plus the two journeys. Ford’s FAQ says timing is discussed when you book, which is the honest answer — an oil change and a brake job are not the same day. Ask for an estimate at write-up.
Which repairs are eligible?
All warranty and customer-pay repairs, as long as the vehicle is drivable and was not in a roadside collision. A vehicle that will not start is not eligible and needs roadside assistance instead.
Can I use a service coupon with it?
Yes. Ford’s FAQ says all rebates and special offers apply. The coupons page carries every current offer, and the offer goes on the repair order when the advisor writes it up.
Is this the same as Ford Mobile Service?
No, they are opposites. Pickup and Delivery brings the vehicle here; Mobile Service brings a technician and a van of parts to you. Heavy work needs the shop; light routine work can be done on the driveway.
Can I change the time or the address after booking?
Yes to both. Ford’s FAQ says changes and cancellations are handled directly with the dealership, and that changing the location is not a problem. Call (847) 669-6060.
Will the vehicle be serviced at Huntley Ford, or somewhere else?
At Huntley Ford. Ford’s FAQ answers this with one word — yes, the vehicle goes to the dealership you chose.
Can Pickup and Delivery be used with roadside assistance?
Not at this time — that is Ford’s own answer. A vehicle that needs roadside help needs a roadside event first; the program is for vehicles that drive.
How do I know what service my vehicle is due?
Ford points owners at the service tab in the FordPass app, which reads the vehicle’s own schedule. The maintenance page sets out what falls due when, and the advisor will confirm it against your mileage.
Leave the car where it is
Book the work with Ford’s scheduler and tell us where to collect it, or call and arrange both at once. The service happens here either way.
